ABCDs of Writing Objectives
Today I want to talk a little bit about the ABCDs of writing objectives. This is a useful method that we like to use that helps us tremendously in writing objectives.
A - Audience: Who are your learner's (Who will be preforming)?
B - Behavior : Describe the task or behavior using action verbs (something that is heard or observed)
C - Condition: Under what conditions (aids, tools, or reference materials)
D - Degree: To what degree of mastery (speed, accuracy)
For fun I have done a learning objective for my Fiancé Josh! Right now Josh is apart of the Government shutdown and it is driving him crazy. He is the type that has to constantly be doing something. I will just brag a little bit on him, I swear my house has never been so clean! Guys, he has even been doing the laundry. I mean like washing, drying, folding, and putting away our clothes! I do have just one small objective for him though...
Given the correct cleaning supplies, Josh will clean the whole bathroom (sink, toilet, and shower) with 95% accuracy.
Can he do it?..... Stay tuned!
So sorry to hear that you all have been affected by the government shut down, that is not fair or right at all. Hopefully things can get back to normal soon. I'm glad, however; that he is trying to stay positive and keep busy by helping out around the house. It is awesome that he is such a good sport and let you take his pic as he got ready to take on that task. Hope he can get that bathroom spicketty clean!
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate the ABCD method, at first, I didn't think I could remember it. I have it written down several times in my notebook. Happy to say, I didn't even need to look at it when writing my post. It just makes perfect sense for writing objectives.
I am so greatly disappointed with the government being shut down for this long. So many good families are hurting because of this. My best friends mom and my uncle work as nurses for the prison in our town. I know they have to still show up for work even though they are not getting paid. I cannot imagine not even going to work at all. I really like the ABCD method it is very helpful, it breaks down the objective into ways that help us focus on certain parts instead of thinking of it as a whole. I personally struggle on this subject, I am not too sure why but I am having a hard time with this. I really like that you also posted a picture, it makes the post way better!
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
